Kyoshin-Ryu Karate had an amazing showing at the Shinkyu Shotokan Karate Tournament in South San Francisco. Three of our remarkable students displayed outstanding skill in kata, kumite, and weapons, bringing home a total of 6 medals. In addition, Sensei Alden Mather took silver in Advanced Men's kumite and Sensei David Kaneda earned gold in Advanced Men's Kata, bringing the medal count up to 8 for Kyoshin-Ryu Karate!

Jayden: Coming from our advanced class, Jayden demonstrated unwavering focus and power in  his performance of Kanku Dai. Jayden's kata highlighted his strength and spirit, earning him silver in the intermediate boy's section.

Pranshi: A true rising star, Pranshi competed in all 3 categories of competition. Winning gold in Kata, silver in Weapons, and bronze in Kumite, Pranshi's commitment to excellence and focused training regimen is evident. Her achievements at this tournament are a true testament to what our students can get from investing their time in our Competition Kata and Kumite classes!

Prithvi: Showcasing excellent precision and technique, Prithvi earned gold in Weapons and bronze in Kata for his respective divisions. Competing alongside Jayden in Kata and Pranshi in Weapons, Prithvi showcased his individual skill while also adding to the dominance of Kyoshin-Ryu in each division.

As instructors, we take immense pride in our students' achievements in karate, but also helping them develop into disciplined, confident individuals. All the medals our dojo earned symbolize not just victories in competition, but also an embodiment of the principles that make our dojo a place of growth, respect, and shared success!
